Ex-Playboy VP Tells Jury She Was Fired For Exposing Fraud

Law360, Los Angeles (February 19, 2014, 3:38 PM EST) -- Former Playboy Enterprises Inc. accounting executive Catherine Zulfer told a California federal jury on Tuesday that the adult entertainment publisher fired her for alerting its general counsel to what she deemed an attempted embezzlement of $1 million by her superiors.

Zulfer sued Playboy for firing her from the corporate controller position, alleging the firing was retaliation for her refusal to accrue $1 million for discretionary bonuses to the company's balance sheet without a vote by the board of directors.
