Ford Hit With Patent Suit Over Hybrid Vehicle Tech

Law360, New York (February 20, 2014, 1:56 PM EST) -- Ford Motor Co. was hit with a suit Wednesday by a developer of hybrid vehicle technology in Maryland federal court alleging the automaker infringed several of the company's patents after turning down a potential business partnership with the patent owner.

Maryland-based Paice LLC said it did extensive modeling and design work on hybrid versions of Ford vehicles at the car manufacturer’s request but Ford ultimately passed on establishing a formal business relationship with the company.
