Inventor Claims PC Makers Infringed Laptop Patent

Law360, New York (March 26, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A Texas-based inventor filed a lawsuit against a slew of PC giants on Tuesday, accusing them of infringing on a patent regarding a modem-like method for transmitting and receiving analog signals and digital signals.

Frances Morris and the Morris Family Trust filed the suit in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas against a list of defendants including Hewlett-Packard Co., Panasonic Corp. and Sony Electronics Inc. among others.
