Celebs Back NYC Mayor's Tax Hike Initiative To Fund Pre-K

Law360, New York (February 21, 2014, 12:45 PM EST) -- Nine prominent female celebrities, including singer Alicia Keys and comedian Rosie O'Donnell, pledged their support on Friday for New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio's plan to increase taxes on the wealthy to fund a universal prekindergarten program.

The women join the already star-studded UPKNYC campaign, which counts U.S. Rep. Charles Rangel, D-N.Y.; Columbia University economist Jeffrey Sachs; singer John Legend; and film producer and studio executive Harvey Weinstein among its ranks.
