Appeals Court Finds FMLA Covers Contract Worker

Law360, New York (March 26, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- An appellate court reinstated a contract employee's Family Medical Leave Act claims against a research partnership formed by Ford Motor Co., Chrysler LLC and General Motors Co. finding Wednesday that the group was liable under the act.

However, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit upheld the dismissal of Rosalyn Grace's gender discrimination claims against the partnership, called USCAR, and its temp agency, Bartech Technical Services LLC.
