LA Hospital Won't Bend In Ongoing Fight Over Knee Patents

Law360, New York (February 25, 2014, 7:05 PM EST) -- A long-standing intellectual property conflict intensified on Monday when a Los Angeles hospital filed a patent infringement lawsuit accusing medical device maker DePuy Orthopaedics Inc. of illegally using the technology the duo developed together in some of its knee replacement products.

Orthopaedic Hospital alleges that DePuy's product, called AOX Antioxidant Polyethylene, infringes on patents for designs it owns and developed in conjunction with a partnership with DePuy, according to court documents.
