Verizon Wins Again In Qui Tam Suit Over Calif. Tax Habits

Law360, Los Angeles (February 27, 2014, 3:35 PM EST) -- A California appeals court shut down a qui tam suit on behalf of five cities in which a former city auditor alleged Verizon California Inc. failed to collect taxes on a $6.50 monthly charge to customers, affirming on Wednesday that the trial court lacked jurisdiction over the matter.
