Citigroup Says Feds Eyeing Anti-Money Laundering Policies

Law360, Washington (March 3, 2014, 12:25 PM EST) -- Citigroup Inc. and its Mexico subsidiary have received grand jury subpoenas from federal prosecutors and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. over bank secrecy and anti-money laundering compliance issues, the bank revealed on Monday.

In a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission regulatory filing, Citigroup said it had been subpoenaed by the U.S. Attorney's Office in Massachusetts and that its affiliate Banamex USA received the same request and an additional subpoena from the FDIC.
