Citrin Cooperman Clients Accuse Firm Of Theft, Tax Fraud

Law360, New York (March 4, 2014, 4:35 PM EST) -- Multistate accounting firm Citrin Cooperman & Co. LLP and one of its partners were sued on Friday for fraud and theft, with several businesses and their owners claiming Citrin's actions stuck them with more than $2 million in tax fees and penalties.

According to the suit, Citrin partner and convicted tax fraudster Matthew Weber stole state and federal tax payments from Andrew Targum and his related businesses, and enlisted other Citrin employees and resources in his fraud.
