11th Circ. Boots RICO Wage Suit Against Sanderson Farms

Law360, Los Angeles (March 7, 2014, 3:46 PM ET) -- The Eleventh Circuit affirmed the dismissal of a putative class action alleging Sanderson Farms Inc. violated the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act by depressing workers' wages, saying Friday that the plaintiffs didn't sufficiently show their injury was caused by racketeering.
A three-judge panel wrote Friday that a Georgia federal court rightly dismissed the suit brought in February 2012 by Sabrina Roberts and Melissa Simpson, former employees of a Sanderson Farms-owned poultry processing plant.
