Bouygues In Talks To Dump Assets To Iliad If Its SFR Bid Wins

Law360, New York (March 10, 2014, 2:12 PM EDT) -- French telecom giant Bouygues SA has entered exclusive negotiations for the sale of part of its mobile phone network and spectrum with smaller rival Iliad SA for as much as €1.8 billion ($2.5 billion) as part of Bouygues' attempt to appease competition regulators in its play for Vivendi SA’s SFR mobile phone and Internet provider unit, the companies said Sunday.

The parties are negotiating a sale to mobile operator Free, owned by Iliad, contingent on Bouygues winning the bidding war for SFR that began last week....
