Fla. Argues Workers' Comp Law Is Valid In Fireman's Suit

Law360, Miami (March 10, 2014, 9:13 PM ET) -- The state of Florida, a co-defendant, weighed in on a workers' compensation law dispute between St. Petersburg and a disabled firefighter, urging the Florida Supreme Court on Thursday to reject the firefighter's request to invalidate the statute.

Attorney General Pamela Jo Bondi argued that the high court should return to an older interpretation of the law that both plaintiff Bradley Westphal and the city contend is correct, and should reject Westphal's argument that such a reading violates his constitutional rights to due process.
