Health Cos. Want Pa. Hospital's Antitrust Suit Dismissed

Law360, Philadelphia (March 20, 2014, 2:19 PM EDT) -- Two medical supply companies asked a Pennsylvania federal judge on Thursday to throw out a putative class action that alleged they had conspired to dominate the market for sutures and stitches, arguing the Pennsylvania hospital operator that brought the suit was not harmed by their pricing strategies.

Attorneys for Cardinal Health Inc. and Owens & Minor Inc. said it was perfectly permissible for both companies to bundle the sale of sutures and related products to their other wares and that Schuylkill Health System was not affected...
