Fla. House Bill Would Create State Gambling Commission

Law360, Miami (March 13, 2014, 8:27 PM EDT) -- Florida legislators on Thursday proposed a bill that would consolidate oversight of gambling under a new state commission, revoke inactive pari-mutuel permits and establish uniform procedures for the conversion or relocation of permits.

The Florida House of Representatives' Select Committee on Gaming members offered their opinions on H.B. 1383, which was introduced by Rep. Robert Schenck, R-Spring Hill, earlier this month and which would set up a Department of Gaming Control that would be responsible for implementation, administration and enforcement of authorized gambling and illegal gambling....
