U.S. Law Firm IPOs Inevitable, Legal Scholars Say

Law360, New York (April 1, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- With Australia already allowing publicly traded law firms and the U.K. expected to follow suit, many legal experts believe it is only a matter of time before the U.S. sees its first initial public offering for a law firm.

U.S. bar associations, however, will have to deal with professional ethics questions and opposition from legal traditionalists before allowing changes in law firm structures.
