EEOC Wins Race-Bias Judgment Against Fla. Trash Co.

Law360, San Francisco (March 17, 2014, 9:06 PM ET) -- A Florida federal court has ordered trash-collection company Titan Waste Services Inc. to pay $228,000 in the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission's lawsuit accusing Titan of harassing and then firing one of its drivers because of his race, the EEOC said Friday.
In a March 10 ruling, U.S. District Court Judge M. Casey Rodgers ordered Titan to pay $228,602 for violations of the Civil Rights Act. The order closes the book on the EEOC's September 2010 lawsuit, filed on behalf of former Titan driver Michael Brooks,...
