RE Rumor Mill: Rockpoint, Yelp, Trulia

By Kaitlin Ugolik (March 18, 2014, 8:49 PM EDT) -- Rockpoint Group LLC and Highgate Holdings have reportedly teamed up to develop a hotel on a vacant lot in Manhattan's Meatpacking District. The parties signed a 99-year lease at the site at 412 West 15th St. between Ninth and Tenth avenues with owner Meilman in order to get control of the site, according to The Real Deal. Meilman had originally planned to build a hotel at the site in 2008, filing plans for a 25-story, 158-room project covering 108,979 square feet, the publication reported. It's not yet clear what type of hotel Rockpoint and Highgate plan to build on the lot....
