Marketwired To Stop Selling News Feeds To Traders: NY AG

Law360, New York (March 19, 2014, 7:14 PM EDT) -- New York Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman said Wednesday that news distribution and reporting firm Marketwired has agreed to stop selling direct news feeds to high-frequency traders, signaling another victory in Schneiderman’s initiative to reform high-frequency trading practices.

The announcement follows a similar decision last month by Business Wire, a Berkshire Hathaway subsidiary, to stop providing similar market-moving data to high-frequency traders, and a January settlement in which BlackRock Inc., the world's largest asset manager, agreed to stop a survey that gave some finance professionals insights...
