Lawyer Suspended For Calling In Sick To 7th Circ. Hearing

Law360, Los Angeles (March 19, 2014, 10:00 PM EDT) -- A defense attorney who faked a stomach bug to get out of oral arguments before the Seventh Circuit was suspended on Friday from practicing law in Illinois for 60 days.

Michael Joseph Finn agreed to a consent judgment issuing the two-month suspension for bailing on his client, who was fending off charges for dealing crack cocaine, minutes before he was to appear in court, according to an order posted by the Illinois Supreme Court.
