HP Sues Papst Over Digital Camera Patents

Law360, New York (April 3, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Hewlett Packard Co. has sued a German patent-holding company that claims HP's digital cameras infringe on two of its patents. The German company, Papst Licensing GMBH & Co. KG, is now entangled in suits with seven companies over the same patents.

According to HP's complaint, filed Monday in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, Papst has asserted that HP needs a license from it in order to produce its digital cameras. It does not appear the two companies had been previously engaged in...
