FERC Approves 23-Mile Cross-Border Natural Gas Pipeline

Law360, New York (March 21, 2014, 2:03 PM EDT) -- The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission on Thursday approved Houston Pipe Line Co. LP’s plans to build a 23-mile natural gas pipeline extension from Texas into Mexico, finding that the small portion of the project that falls on U.S. soil will have minimal environmental impact.

The project will have almost no effect on nearby landowners, animals and marine life, but will facilitate natural gas import and export with Mexico, FERC said.
