Former IRS Chief Werfel Joins Boston Consulting Group

Law360, New York (March 24, 2014, 5:56 PM EDT) -- Former acting IRS Director Danny Werfel has joined the Boston Consulting Group to become a director in its public sector practice, the firm said on Monday.

Werfel was appointed to run the Internal Revenue Service in May following Steven Miller's resignation from the role amid controversy over the agency's alleged targeting of conservative groups applying for tax-exempt status. There, he appointed the agency’s first chief risk officer, deployed an agency-wide risk management program and managed the agency through the government shutdown.
