The greater access provided by both drilling techniques creates correspondingly greater pipe footage requirements for various casing and tubing products as compared to traditional vertical wells. After slumping in late 2008 and 2009, demand for OCTG rose sharply, increasing from 5 million tons to 7.2 million tons from 2010 to 2012, before leveling off in 2013....
