High Tobacco Taxes Make NY Biggest Cig Smuggling Hub

Law360, New York (March 25, 2014, 1:41 PM EDT) -- According to a watchdog study released Wednesday, an increase in tobacco tax rates coupled with enormous taxation differences in neighboring states increased the black market for cigarette smuggling over the past six years, with New York topping the list with the most illegal inbound cigarette shipments.
