Delta Dumps Deloitte & Touche As Auditor

Law360, New York (February 6, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- As Delta Airlines continues to struggle with reorganization, the bankrupt carrier has decided to replace accounting firm Deloitte & Touche with Ernst & Young as its independent auditor for the 2006 fiscal year.

The nation’s third-largest carrier announced the switch on Friday, marking the end of a competitive bidding process for the position that had taken place among the top accounting firms.

The move comes as something of a surprise, given that Deloitte & Touche had served as the airline’s auditor since 2002.
