Judge OKs $11M Deal In Brain Aneurysm Patent Suit

Law360, New York (April 4, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Medical device maker ev3 has finalized an agreement that would give $11.7 million to the University of California to settle a dispute over patents related to the treatment of brain aneurysms, the university said.

Under the settlement, which was approved Friday, the university has agreed to grant ev3 a sublicense to the patents in question and to drop all claims pending between the parties in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.
