RE Rumor Mill: Co-Op Record, Lightstone, Rockefeller

By Kaitlin Ugolik (April 3, 2014, 6:59 PM EDT) -- An unnamed buyer has signed a deal to buy what could be the most expensive co-op in New York City's history, according to the New York Post. The Upper East Side penthouse, which previously belonged to the late billionaire and Seagram Co. head Edgar Bronfman, is reportedly in contract for $70 million. The Post reported that a different buyer was prepared to pay $65 million for the penthouse on Fifth Avenue between East 77th and East 78th streets when the new buyer came in with the potentially record-setting offer. If this deal closes, it will break the record previously set by film studio executive David Geffen, who paid $54 million for his Fifth Avenue penthouse in 2012....
