Law360, New York (April 09, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- In a last-minute settlement, Vascular Solutions Inc. has agreed to pay $3.6 million to resolve its battle with Diomed Inc. over the patent for a laser treatment for varicose veins.
Vascular Solutions announced the settlement Wednesday, a day before attorneys were scheduled to present oral arguments before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Co-defendant AngioDynamics Inc. had filed the appeal concurrently with Vascular Solutions, but settled with Diomed and withdrew on March 3.
