Realtek Hit With $45M Jury Verdict In 3Com Case

Law360, New York (April 10, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A jury has awarded computer network equipment maker 3Com Corp. $45.3 million after finding that Taiwan-based Realtek Semiconductor Corp. infringed four of 3Com's patents for network interface cards.

Following a two-week trial in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, the jury reached its verdict Wednesday. It found that Realtek infringed six claims of four of 3Com's patents and that five of the six claims were infringed willfully.
