Realtek Seeks Lower Damages In 3Com Suit

Law360, New York (April 11, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Hit with a $45.3 million jury verdict for patent infringement, Realtek Semiconductor Corp. has reportedly said it will seek lower damages but may not file an appeal.

A San Francisco jury decided Wednesday that Realtek had infringed four patents held by 3Com Corp. for network interface cards.

Realtek Vice President Jesse Chen told Dow Jones on Friday that the company will “either seek a lower compensation or a court rejection of the jury ruling, but the former is more likely.”
