Institute Fights Subpoena For Auto Transmission Info

Law360, New York (April 14, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A Texas research institute that performed work for General Motors Corp. has said it needs more time to produce documents related to allegedly faulty transmissions at the center of a purported class action against GM.

San Antonio-based Southwest Research Institute filed a motion Thursday to quash the plaintiffs' subpoena for information on GM's Vti transmissions, which a group of Saturn owners have alleged have design flaws that caused their vehicles to break down.
