NCAA Athletes Launch Bias Suit Over Lost Scholarships

Law360, New York (April 23, 2014, 7:50 PM ET) -- The National Collegiate Athletic Association was hit with a putative class action in New Jersey federal court Tuesday by female athletes who say they were promised Dorsey scholarships but then had them pulled after their school was hit with violations of NCAA rules that disproportionately affect female students.  

Named plaintiffs Shannon Pedersen, Jaclyn Janicky and Emily Cristaldi — two soccer players and one basketball player, respectively — allege in the complaint that they and eight other student athletes at Kean University had their scholarships taken...
