RE Rumor Mill: Blackstone, Extell, Sares Regis

By Kaitlin Ugolik (April 28, 2014, 5:33 PM EDT) -- Blackstone Group LP reportedly beat out several other bidders for Project Tower, a collection of property loans connected to Irish developer Michael O'Flynn worth €1.8 billion ($2.3 billion). Blackstone offered about €1 billion for the portfolio in the auction run on behalf of the National Asset Management Agency, which was set up to manage Ireland's real estate exposure, according to PERE News. Blackstone's bid for the loans, which include UK, Irish and German assets, reportedly beat out competing bids from Deutsche Bank, Davidson Kempner Partners, Apollo Global Management LLC and Lone Star Funds....
