Rocker Joan Jett Settles 'Blackheart' Suit Against Hot Topic

Law360, New York (May 12, 2014, 3:16 PM ET) -- Rock singer Joan Jett and her Blackheart Records Group Inc. on Monday settled their New York federal trademark lawsuit against shopping mall fixture Hot Topic Inc., resolving claims that the retailer was selling infringing rock-inspired lingerie under the "Blackheart" brand name.

A federal judge approved a joint motion from Blackheart Records, named after Jett's band, and Hot Topic to end the lawsuit, which claimed the retailer went ahead with its own Blackheart line after talks for an exclusive merchandising deal fell apart.
