Judge Awards UniRAM $5M In TSMC Patent Spat

Law360, New York (April 21, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Seven months after a jury awarded UniRAM Technology Inc. $30.5 million in a trade secrets case against Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. Ltd., a federal judge has granted UniRAM's motion to award the company more than $5 million in prejudgment interest.

U.S. District Judge Vaughn Walker of the Northern District of California ruled Thursday that UniRAM was entitled to a permanent injunction preventing TSMC from further misappropriating its trade secrets and an as-yet unspecified amount in prejudgment interest, in a case that involved specialized computer memory devices....
