Dewey Trustee Fires Off 11 Clawback Suits Worth $22M

Law360, Los Angeles (May 13, 2014, 10:40 PM ET) -- Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP's liquidating trustee filed 11 adversary proceedings in New York bankruptcy court on Tuesday, in an attempt to claw back roughly $22.5 million in payments allegedly paid to its equity partners and others while the debtor was insolvent.

In the adversary proceeding seeking the greatest amount, Dewey's liquidating trustee, Alan M. Jacobs, is requesting a judgment of about $13.9 million plus interest, fees and costs from Khalid Al-Thebity, a former equity partner who is a resident of Saudi Arabia, according to Dewey....
