Merged Delta Will Benefit Everyone, CEOs Say

Law360, New York (April 24, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The chief executives of Delta Air Lines Inc. and Northwest Airlines Corp. vowed to lawmakers on Thursday that their $17.7 billion merger would not force frontline employees out of their jobs or result in hub shutdowns but would boost the the carriers' ability to combat soaring fuel prices and steep competition abroad.

The CEOs responded to tough questions in both the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate, as lawmakers questioned them about how the merger would affect jobs, flight services, prices and other issues....
