$66M Verdict Will Be Reversed: Clear Channel

Law360, New York (April 24, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A Texas jury said Tuesday that Clear Channel Communications Inc. must pay more than $66 million for willfully infringing four patents related to integrated inventory management systems for radio stations, but the company said it believes the verdict will be reversed on appeal.

The jury awarded Grantley Patent Holdings Inc. $66,029,750, which could be trebled because the jury found that the infringement was willful. The verdict followed a seven-day trial in the the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.
