Former Investment Head Sentenced To Prison

Law360, New York (April 24, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The former president and part owner of a Maryland-based investment advisory firm has been sentenced to more than five years behind bars for allegedly defrauding investors in order to line his own pockets with cash.

Judge Roger W. Titus of the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland sentenced Marc Freedman of TriCapital Advisors Inc. to serve 63 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release, and pay $1.2 million in restitution, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission announced Wednesday.
