Committee OKs Bill To Kill FCC Ownership Rules

Law360, New York (April 24, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A resolution aimed at blocking the Federal Communications Commission's controversial media cross-ownership rules cleared a U.S. Senate committee on Thursday with a unanimous vote.

Adate has not yet been set for a Senate-wide vote on the “resolution of disapproval.” But the measure's sponsors are pushing to have the procedure expedited in an effort to thwart a set of rules that could open the door to widespread consolidation in the media industry.
