Deals Rumor Mill: CVC, Lenovo, Hutchison

By Chelsea Naso (June 4, 2014, 2:37 PM EDT) -- CVC Capital Partners Ltd. and KKR & Co. are said to be eyeing up units to be sold by cement makers Holcim Ltd. and Lafarge SA to win regulatory approval for their planned €29 billion ($40 billion) merger, sources told Bloomberg on Wednesday. The cement companies are working on a list of units to sell and many expect those on the chopping block to be based in Europe, where Holcim and Lafarge have the greatest overlap. Bids for the units could reach more than €5 billion, the report said. CVC and KKR could also decide to form a consortia to make an offer, the report said. Blackstone Group, however, is said to be one of the firms that decided not to plunk down a bid....
