NJ Court Upholds $3.6M Age Bias Award Against Prosecutor

Law360, New York (June 06, 2014, 7:41 PM ET) -- A New Jersey appeals court on Friday affirmed a $3.6 million age bias judgment for six prosecutor's office investigators, finding that the jury hadn't stepped out of line in making the award.

The three-judge appellate panel found that the jury had made reasonable decisions in determining the amount of damages, particularly punitive damages, owed by Passaic County and its former prosecutor, James Avigliano, to plaintiffs Selina Brown, Ray Cassetta, Robert Mulick, Joseph Phillips, Frank Santoro and Michael Tynio, who were terminated or forced to retire from...
