FTC Deepens Elsevier-ChoicePoint Investigation

Law360, New York (April 30, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The Federal Trade Commission has requested additional information from British publishing giant Reed Elsevier Group Plc and ChoicePoint Inc. as the agency examines the antitrust implications of Reed Elsevier's proposed $4 billion purchase of the consumer data seller.

On Tuesday, Georgia-based ChoicePoint announced the second request and disclosed that some state attorneys general were also reviewing the deal, which was announced in February.
