Senior House Chairs To FCC: Hem Sirius-XM Powers

Law360, New York (May 1, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Two senior Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives have urged the Federal Communications Commission to protect the public interest and impose conditions on the controversial merger of the only two satellite radio companies if the deal is approved.

Reps. John Dingell (D-Mich.) and Edward Markey (D-Mass.) sent a letter to Thursday to FCC Chairman Kevin J. Martin that did not object to the proposed merger of XM Satellite Radio Holdings Inc. and Sirius Satellite Radio Inc. but calls for a series of restrictions.
