Ford Asks ITC To Bar Mustang Knockoff Parts

Law360, New York (May 6, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Ford Motor Co. has asked the U.S. International Trade Commission to stem the allegedly steady flow of infringing auto parts into the U.S. from Taiwan that are designed to resemble parts of the company's 2005 Mustang convertible.

Ford Global Technologies LLC, which handles Ford's intellectual property interests, filed a complaint Friday with the ITC accusing several Taiwanese and American companies of manufacturing and importing parts that infringe several Ford design patents and asking the commission to initiate a formal investigation under Section 337 of the Tariff...
