Antitrust Group Backs Auto Repair Parts Patent Bill

Law360, New York (May 7, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The American Antitrust Institute is backing legislation aimed at protecting consumers' ability to obtain low-cost repair parts for their vehicles.

In a letter to U.S. Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-Calif.), the bill's sponsor, AAI said the bill would likely bring more competition to the market for component parts, and consumers would benefit from lower prices, more options and better quality as a result.
