Mandatory E-Verify Program Could Cost $1B: GAO

Law360, New York (May 7, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A mandatory E-Verify program such as the one being bandied about by Congress would require a massive increase in regulatory capacity and would cost nearly $1 billion to implement, a study by the U.S. Government Accountability Office has found.
