RE Rumor Mill: Jane Street, Answers.com, Lone Star Funds

By Kaitlin Ugolik (July 15, 2014, 3:57 PM EDT) -- Hedge fund sponsor Jane Street Capital LLC has signed a lease for 117,000 square feet at 250 Vesey St. in lower Manhattan, part of Brookfield Property Partners LP's Brookfield Place, according to the New York Post. The new lease doubles Jane Street's downtown footprint, and comes as the fund exits another Brookfield property, 1 New York Plaza. The floors that Jane Street is expected to fill at Brookfield Place are among the 4.6 million square feet vacated by Merrill Lynch last fall. When Merrill moved out, Brookfield Place's five office buildings were 59 percent vacant, according to the Post, which reported that the vacancy rate is now down to 12 percent....
