Dorsey Partner Fired Amid Insider Trading Probe

Law360, New York (May 9, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Dorsey & Whitney LLP has fired a mergers and acquisitions partner in its Toronto office after learning he was tied to an investigation for alleged insider trading.

The Minneapolis-based firm terminated Gil I. Cornblum on Thursday. Cornblum has come under scrutiny by the U.S. Securities Exchange Commission for allegedly playing a role in insider trading activity on certain mergers and acquisitions deals that the firm worked on as legal counsel.
