Judge Lets Aloha Trustee Toss Labor Contracts

Law360, New York (May 15, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge has authorized the Chapter 7 trustee overseeing Aloha Airlines Inc.'s bankruptcy to reject several collective bargaining agreements, over the objections of two unions.

The motion, granted Wednesday by Judge Lloyd King of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Hawaii, voids agreements with 3,300 of the bankrupt airline's 3,500 employees, including pilots, flight attendants, clerical and office workers, mechanics, contract services workers and flight dispatchers.
